Daniel Hoffmann (born October 27, 1971 in Rostock ) is a former German football player (goalkeeper) and coach .
Player career
Through the youth teams of Hansa Rostock , the club he had been a member of since 1978, Daniel Hoffmann got into the Hanseatic squad in the last championship round of the German Democratic Republic, which was rising in the Federal Republic. The goalkeeper made his debut in the second half of the season on March 1, 1991 in a 3-1 home win against FC Carl Zeiss Jena in the league . Just like his goalkeeper competitor Jens Kunath , Hoffmann contributed to winning the first championship and first cup title of FC Hansa with 13 league and three cup appearances - Hoffmann played the cup final, which was played 1-0 against the Eisenhüttenstadt player on June 2, 1991 FC Stahl ended.
In the first all-German Bundesliga season that followed , Hoffmann pushed Kunath out of the Rostock goal, played 30 league appearances and played both games against FC Barcelona in the first round of the 1991/92 European Cup , from which Rostock had a 3-0 away defeat Eliminated 1-0 home win. He also completed his only assignment in the U-21 national team in 1992 . However, Rostock rose from the first division, whereupon Hoffmann made 100 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga between 1992/93 and 1994/95 and rose to the first Bundesliga with Rostock in 1994/95.
Due to the commitment Perry grooms for the following 1995/96 season Hoffmann came to no further use in Rostock, whereupon he left the club for the 1996/97 season and in October 1996 joined the second division VfB Leipzig , for which he completed 23 games. After only one year in Leipzig, Hoffmann went on to the Bundesliga club TSV 1860 Munich , where he was regular goalkeeper with 33 appearances in the 1999/2000 season , but only made seven appearances in the other seasons.
Hoffmann then moved to the Turkish first division club Kocaelispor for a year , before joining the Austrian division SK Sturm Graz in 2001 . After only nine Bundesliga appearances for Graz, Hoffmann was initially without a club in 2003 until he joined the regional league team SC Paderborn 07 in January 2004 , for which he completed 10 appearances. Hoffmann then played another half-series in Paderborn's second team before ending his active career from January to June 2005 at SV Warnemünde football .
Coaching career
In November 2007 Daniel Hoffmann started his first coaching position with Martin Max at the district league club TSV Grafing . He currently works as a goalkeeping coach for SC Fürstenfeldbruck .
