Daniel Morad

Daniel Morad (born April 24, 1990 in Markham , Ontario ) is a Canadian racing driver . In the A1GP he competed with a Lebanese racing license.

Career

Morad began his motorsport career in 1998 in kart racing , in which he was active until 2005. Among other things, he won the Canadian Kart Championship in 2005. In 2006 he moved to the Formula sport and launched in the US Formula BMW , which he finished in sixth place overall. He was also champion of the Bridgestone F2000 Racing Series. In 2007, Morad stayed in the US Formula BMW and secured the championship title with six victories with a clear lead over Esteban Gutiérrez and Alexander Rossi .

In 2008 he moved to the Atlantic Championship and played large parts of the season in this series. At the end of the season he finished twelfth overall. In winter 2008/2009 , Morad, who had always raced with a Canadian racing license in his career so far, started as the only driver for the Lebanese A1 team in the A1GP series. At the end of the season, the team finished 17th overall. In the further course of the season, the Canadian did not receive a cockpit and returned to karting.

In 2010 , Morad started for Status Grand Prix in the GP3 series . He won a race and finished the season in twelfth place in the drivers' standings. In 2011 he initially took part in three GP3 race weekends for Carlin . He remained without points and finished 33rd overall. After the end of his GP3 engagement, he joined Team Moore Racing for a race weekend of the Indy Lights . An eleventh place was his best result.
