Career

Jurtaikin comes from the offspring of Lokomotive Yaroslavl , for whom he was repeatedly active in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga (MHL) until the end of the 2017/18 season . In addition to appearances for Loko-Junior in the MHL-B and Loko in the MHL itself, the striker made his professional debut at HK Ryazan in the second-rate Wysschaja Hockey League in the 2016/17 season . There he was active on loan and had 21 scorer points in 26 missions after winning his first championship in the MHL in the form of the Kharlamov Cup with Loko last year. Shortly after the start of the 2017/18 season , Yurtaikin left Yaroslavl when he was transferred to Amur Khabarovsk for a sum of money in October 2017 . There he made his debut in the Continental Hockey League (KHL), but he left the club at the end of November after five KHL and two MHL appearances for the youth team Amurskije Tigry back towards Yaroslavl.

In addition to playing for Ryazan, he played other games for Loko in the MHL, with which he celebrated his second junior championship title in 2018, and for the professional team of Loko Yaroslavl in the KHL. In the 2018/19 season, the 21-year-old finally established himself as a regular player in the KHL team and made 48 season appearances in which he scored a total of 20 times. There were ten gates below. After the season, the winger received a contract offer from the San Jose Sharks from the National Hockey League (NHL), whereupon he moved to North America and, after a successful training camp, made his NHL debut for San Jose at the beginning of the 2019/20 season.

International

For his home country, Jurtaikin took part in the junior division at the U18 World Junior Championships 2015 in Switzerland and the 2017 U20 World Junior Championships in Canada . At the U20 Junior World Championship, the striker was able to contribute three scorer points to winning the bronze medal.
