Dante Lafranconi (born March 10, 1940 in Mandello del Lario , Province of Lecco , Italy ) is an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman and emeritus bishop of Cremona .

Life

Dante Lafranconi was ordained a priest on June 28, 1964 and then obtained a degree in church history from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Savona-Noli on December 7, 1991 . The bishop of Como , Alessandro Maggiolini , donated to him on January 25 of next year in the Cathedral of Como , the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were Franco Festorazzi , Archbishop of Ancona-Osimo , and Teresio Ferraroni , Former Bishop of Como. As a motto he chose Afflante Spiritu .

He was appointed Bishop of Cremona on September 8, 2001, and was introduced to the office on November 4 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on November 16, 2015.
