Darío de Jesús Monsalve Mejía (born March 15, 1948 in Valparaíso ) is Archbishop of Cali .

Life

Darío de Jesús Monsalve Mejía was ordained a priest on October 17, 1976 . Pope John Paul II appointed him on October 7, 1993 titular bishop of Inuca in Mauretania and auxiliary bishop in Medellín .

The Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia , Paolo Romeo , donated him episcopal ordination on November 15 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Héctor Rueda Hernández , Archbishop of Medellín , and Augusto Aristizábal Ospina , Bishop of Jericó .

On July 25, 2001, he was appointed Bishop of Málaga - Soatá . On June 3, 2010, he was appointed Coadjutor Archbishop of Cali , and on August 1 of the same year he was introduced to the office. After the resignation of Juan Francisco Sarasti Jaramillo's CIM , he succeeded him on May 18, 2011 in the office of Archbishop of Cali.
