Daria Werbowy
Daria Werbowy (born November 19, 1983 in Krakow , Poland as Дарія Вербова ( Ukrainian , transcription: Dariya Verbova )) is a Ukrainian- Canadian model .
Life
Daria Werbowy, of Ukrainian origin, although born in Poland , immigrated to Canada in 1986 with her parents and two siblings . The family settled in Mississauga , a major city outside Toronto . The name Werbowy means pasture in German . At 180 cm tall, she is size 34.
She began her modeling career at the age of 14 and was initially under contract with a Canadian agency, then switched to Elite Model Management , but did not yet have resounding international success. When she was listed by the IMG , her international career began.
Werbowy joined the supermodels with the cover pictures photographed by Steven Meisel for the Italian edition of Vogue in July, August and October 2003; also it was there again in May 2004 on the front page. There are also covers in other editions, including in Korea, Portugal, Spain, Greece and France. In September 2004 she was on the cover of the 832-page largest issue of US Vogue to date . The cover shows her together with Kate Moss and Gisele Bündchen . Werbowy is one of the most widely used cover models for Vogue .
During her first season, she opened the fashion shows of twelve fashion houses in September 2003, setting a new record. Daria Werbowy has worked for renowned fashion houses, including Christian Dior , Givenchy , Gucci , Jil Sander , Louis Vuitton , Prada , Versace , Yves Saint Laurent and worked in advertising campaigns for Givenchy, Nina Ricci and Chanel . Her greatest successes to date have been the exclusive contract for the advertising series in the year of its Paris debut, autumn / winter 2003, with Prada and the multi-year contract with the cosmetics company Lancôme for the presentation of the Hypnose product series . She was the advertising face for Mango and was featured in several H&M campaigns .
Daria Werbowy does snowboarding , beach volleyball , basketball and sailing in her free time . In addition, she took a break after her many assignments. Together with her boyfriend Sinéad, she first traveled the world before settling in the small Irish town of Cork .
