The horror is a Canadian horror film from the year 1980 . Directed by Peter Medak .
action
The film begins with the wife and daughter of the protagonist John Russell having a fatal accident in a car. The composer then moved from New York to Washington State into an old, secluded Victorian mansion. There, Russel is soon haunted by the ghost of a murdered boy. He witnesses eerie occurrences such as mysterious noises from the in-house water tank or cruel visions. Russell begins researching the past of the house and its owners and eventually comes across a connection between the fate of the murdered boy and the past of an influential US Senator .
