action

16-year-old high school student Dylan Jameison lives with his widowed mother, Carol, in Philadelphia. He is terminally ill and has a brain tumor . The Wish Givers Foundation invites him to a TV show where he is asked what his final wish is. Jameison wishes to meet the famous model Nikki Sinclaire.

Sinclaire sees the show and arranges a meeting with the student, which she ends after a short time. Jameison is disappointed and travels - accompanied by his friends - to New York City , where Sinclaire lives. Sinclaire doesn't have time for him.

Back home, Dylan is feeling worse and worse when Sinclaire shows up at the hospital, they spend one last night together on the beach, where Dylan dies.

The last scene shows the ghost of Dylan fishing in the afterlife with his father's ghost.

Reviews

Mick LaSalle wrote in the San Francisco Chronicle of May 5, 2006 that the film was far removed from the "usual schemes" of films about fatal diseases. The comedy watch well; their direction shows sensitivity to the individuality of the characters. The "strong representations" even in small roles would prove a sure hand of the director. Cynthia Nixon conveys an abundance of emotions for which she does not need dialogue.
