David Dias Pimentel

David Dias Pimentel (born March 18, 1941 in São Miguel ) is a Portuguese religious and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of São João da Boa Vista .

Life

David Dias Pimentel was ordained a priest on December 21, 1969 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Belo Horizonte and titular bishop of Marazanae on December 11, 1996 . The Archbishop of Belo Horizonte, Serafím Fernandes de Araújo , donated him episcopal ordination on January 31 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were José de Aquino Pereira , Bishop of Rio Preto , and Luiz Gonzaga Bergonzini , Bishop of Guarulhos .

He was appointed Bishop of São João da Boa Vista on February 7, 2001, and was introduced to the office on March 25 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on September 28, 2016.
