Dávid Verrasztó (born August 22, 1988 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian back and position swimmer . He is (as of May 2016) five-time European champion over the 400 m individualized course.

Verrasztó won his first European title in 2010 at the 2010 European Short Course in Eindhoven in 4: 03.06 min ahead of the German Yannick Lebherz (4: 05.08 min). The second gold followed three years later in Herning, Denmark, in 4: 03.48 min, two hundredths of a second ahead of Israeli Gal Nevo (4: 03.50 min). The same success came the following year on the long track: In Berlin, the time measurement for him was 4: 11.89 min, well ahead of Roberto Pavoni (4: 13.75 min), who started for England, and the Italian Federico Turrini.

At the European Short Course Championships 2011 in Szczecin, he almost missed the Olympic participation in London 2012 in spite of a silver medal on his special route behind his compatriot László Cseh and in front of Gal Nevo. Under the influence of alcohol and with the participation of his Hungarian colleague Gergely Gyurta , he punched an official and was initially banned by the Hungarian Swimming Association for two years and nine months. However, he was later allowed to participate in the Olympics.

The Olympic Games in London in 2012 ended with a disappointment for him: 4: 18.31 minutes meant sixth place and elimination in the third run.

Dávid Verrasztó is the son of Hungary's swimming legend Zoltán Verrasztó . His sister Evelyn , who was one year younger than him, took part in four Olympics.
