Deborah Nordyke (born May 20, 1962 in Belthalto ) is an American biathlete and cross-country skier .

Deborah Nordyke lives in Burlington and trains in Anchorage . The elementary school teacher is a member of the US Air Force reserve and starts for WCAP Air Force . She started biathlon in 1992, and in 1994 she first competed in international cross-country skiing competitions in FIS races. Since 1995 she has mainly started in the World Cup . Nordyke played her first race at an individual in Lahti , where she was 46th. Her first international championship was the 1996 Biathlon World Championships in Ruhpolding , where the American was 59th in the individual. In the team race, she finished fifth with Stacey Wooley , Kristina Sabasteanski and Ntala Skinner . A year later she reached 71st place in the sprint in Osrblie and ninth place in the relay race with Skinner, Wooley and Sabasteanski. Participation in the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano became a career highlight . At the Games in Japan, Nordyke was used in the sprint and was 48. Shortly after the Games , she achieved her best result in the World Cup with 38th place in a sprint in Pokljuka . The pursuit race based on it was considered a world championship , which was held in Pokljuka in the non-Olympic disciplines. After his career, Nordyke initially withdrew from international assignments. Since the 2000s, she initially participated in the military world ski championships . In 2002 she was 25th in the 10-kilometer cross-country sprint in Kranjska Gora , and 31st in Rovaniemi in 2003. The next international competition was the 2006 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Ufa . Nordyke was used in the cross-country races and achieved positions 18 in the sprint and 15 in the pursuit. In the mixed relay race, she started with Erin Graham , Douglas Hoover and Erich Wilbrecht as the starting runner and did not finish as a lapped relay. So far, she had her last international assignment at the age of 47 at the 2010 Military World Ski Championships in Brusson ; there she was 45th of the biathlon sprint.
