The Rastatt deanery is a deanery in the diocese of Freiburg .

history

With the reform of the deanery on January 1, 2008, the former deanery Murgtal became the deanery Rastatt as one of 26 deaneries of the Archdiocese of Freiburg. The seat of the deanery is Rastatt . The deanery together with the deaneries Bruchsal , Karlsruhe , Pforzheim and Baden-Baden form the Middle Upper Rhine / Pforzheim region of the Archdiocese of Freiburg.

On January 1, 2015, the parishes of Gaggenau-Stadt and Gaggenau-Moosbronn were merged to form the pastoral care unit Gaggenau and the parishes of Bietigheim-Elchesheim-Illingen and Ötigheim-Steinmauern to form the pastoral care unit Südhardt-Rhein. From the original 14 pastoral care units of the Rastatt dean's office, their number had decreased to nine by January 1, 2015.
