The Endingen-Waldkirch deanery is one of 26 deaneries in the Diocese of Freiburg .

history

With the reform of the deanery on January 1, 2008, the deanery of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Freiburg was created. The seat is in Emmendingen . Together with the deaneries of Freiburg , Breisach-Neuenburg , Neustadt and Schwarzwald-Baar, the deanery forms the Breisgau / Schwarzwald / Baar region of the Archdiocese of Freiburg .

From the original ten pastoral care units in the Endingen-Waldkirch dean's office, their number had decreased to nine by January 1, 2015.

Demographic and socio-spatial structure

The dean's office geographically covers the district of Emmendingen as well as the Glottertal and Heuweiler. The landscape is shaped by the Kaiserstuhl with its surrounding wine villages and vineyards . In addition, three Black Forest valleys shape the area: Elz , Simonswälder and Glottertal .
