Delia Sclabas (born November 8, 2000 in Bern ) is a Swiss athlete who competes in medium and long-distance running . Sclabas is also active as a triathlete , she is two-time junior world champion in duathlon (2016, 2017), junior world champion in aquathlon (2017) and reigning vice-European champion in aquathlon (2018).

Sclabas gained her first international experience at athletic level at the U18 European Championships , which were held for the first time in July 2016 in Tbilisi , where she won gold medals in the 1500 and 3000 m.

In 2017 she took part in the U20 European Championships in Grosseto , where she won the gold medal in the 3000 m and was ahead of the first pursuer at the finish line barely ten seconds. In addition, she represented her country at the European Team Championship (1st league) in Vaasa , where she finished second in the 3000 m. In 2017 Sclabas became Swiss champion over 800 m in the hall.

In July 2018, Delia Sclabas won bronze over the 800 m as well as the 1500 m at the U20 World Cup in Tampere (Finland). At the European Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2018 , she was eliminated in the preliminary stages and finished in 21st place.

In 2019 Sclabas started over 800 meters at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow , where she was eliminated with 2: 06.07 min in the first round. Then she reached the 28th place in the U20 rankings at the Cross Country World Championships in Aarhus after 22:43 min. In mid-July she won the U20 European Championships in Borås, Sweden, in 4: 25.95 minutes over 1500 meters and won the silver medal in the 800-meter run in 2: 03.36 minutes. In December she took fourth place in the U20 rankings at the European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon in 14:22 min.

In 2015 and 2019 Sclabas became Swiss champion in the 1500 meter run outdoors and in 2020 indoors. She also won over 800 meters in the hall in 2017 and in the 3000 meter run in 2019.

Duathlon and Aquathlon

In June 2016, 15-year-old Delia Sclabas became Junior World Champion Duathlon in Spain.

Again in Spain she became Junior European Duathlon Champion in April 2017 and in August she was able to successfully defend the World Cup title in Canada and became Junior World Champion Duathlon for the second time. She also won the junior class at the Aquathlon World Championships in August. At the same time she was runner-up in the elite class.

Delia Sclabas starts in the “Duathlon Transition Team” of Swiss Triathlon in the 2018 season .

At the Junior European Triathlon Championship, the 17-year-old finished third in Ibiza in October and four days later she also became Vice European Champion Aquathlon.
