The Partyphotograph is a German comedy film from 1968 with Rolf Zacher and Werner Finck in the leading roles.

action

The somewhat shy Anton Pauli works as a television technician. When one day he finds a portfolio with nudes and magazine cover photos of naked or half-naked girls, the ladies mistakenly mistake him for a star photographer who specializes in these types of pictures. It is 1968 and the "sexual revolution" is in full swing. Therefore, Anton can soon hardly save himself from girls willing to undress, who literally besiege him and who absolutely want to be photographed by him in their Eva costume. A cunning chemist comes up with the idea of participating in Pauli's fresh photographer fame and without further ado sells Anton's bosom photos.

Business is flourishing, everyone is talking about Anton, and party after party will soon follow, with “star photographer” Anton Pauli always in the thick of it. The “immoral” hustle and bustle is no longer hidden from the police. Wild drug orgies and girl trafficking are suspected and a raid is being prepared. State power strikes at a boat party. Anton is just caught dealing with Gisela, the cute, short-haired daughter of the investigating commissioner Kerbler. But for both of them it's more than just short-term sex pleasure. And so the “wild” party photographer ends up in a rather bourgeois, bourgeois way in the harbor of marriage.

Reviews

“She used to feed sensation-hungry gossip reporters with her scandals. In the meantime it has become quieter about Barbara Valentin, Germany's sex symbol with heavy breasts. Rosy, round and really lovely, she presented herself to the press yesterday evening after a long time. The reason for this meeting with Barbara is Hans-Dieter Bove's film "Der Party-Photograph", which will be released shortly in the Federal Republic. Inspired by the case of the Hamburg scandal photographer Kruger, he parodies the sex and cover picture hype of our day. "

- Hamburger Abendblatt from November 28, 1968

In the lexicon of international films it says: “A simple mix-up story as a hook for striptease numbers and cheap jokes.” Even the Protestant film observer does not come to a better assessment: “German slapstick comedy about a young photographer against his will. Naked talk and humor are harmless to cheerful when combined. "
