Nino Borghi

Nino Borghi (born February 2, 1918 in Milan , † July 2, 1994 in Vienna ; also Johann Borghi ) was an Austrian - Italian set designer and set designer .

Live and act

The son of an Italian wine merchant and an Austrian studied at the art academy in Florence . After the Second World War, he settled in Villach and began to provide operettas , for example on tours with Johannes Heesters . Later he worked at the Bürgerertheater in Vienna. He found access to Austrian film through the architect and university professor Gustav Abel .

Borghi was significantly involved in Franco-German filmmaking in the 1960s and 1970s and worked as a film architect on almost all of the films produced by Karl Spiehs . Borghi received the Federal Film Prize in 1975 for the equipment for Karl May . Borghi was married to Elfi Borghi , who was a famous international model in the 60s / 70s. Since the 1980s, Borghi worked almost exclusively for television.

The Viennese director Franz Antel , who was a friend of Nino Borghi, also valued Borghi's arts.

Nino and Elfi Borghi were buried in a grave at the Hernals cemetery .
