action

Guillaume Daubray-Lacaze, entrepreneur, inventor and mayor, is delighted to have sold 3,000 copies of his "smoke destruction machine" to the Japanese until he realizes that his production capacity does not allow such an order. So he has to expand his production facility, which is more difficult than expected. In fact, he is forced to exhaust his existing capacities to the limit of pain and beyond. He moves production to his own home. The once so elegant villa is quickly sinking into chaos, to the annoyance of his wife Bernadette. When her winter garden falls victim to the hustle and bustle of her husband, she bursts her collar: In protest, she runs against her husband in the mayoral election as a candidate for the environmental protection party - and wins with one vote. But she does not accept the choice; so your election campaign helper, the doctor, becomes mayor in their place. Eventually, Guillaume's banker discovers that the Japanese check was banned. Her husband is facing ruin. And so in the end, at Bernadette's insistence, they move to the countryside, where the former mayor is working on a “ sheep shearing machine” and wants to build a clothing factory on a mountain, which of course leads to another dispute between the two.

useful information

  • In this film, Peter Schiff was first used as voice actor for Louis de Funès , as the successor to Gerd Martienzen .
  • The French original title La zizanie (literally: "The discord") is identical to the 15th volume of the comic series Asterix . This appeared in 1970.

Reviews

“Louis de Funes comedy with a mixture of satirical intent and slapstick; only really funny in parts. "

“The essentials are missing here. Momentum, wit and speed, without which there is no real comedy success. "

“In one of his last films, Louis de Funes shows himself once again as a lively hectic person - the film title is apt in all respects. However, it is also de Funès alone who carries the film, the plot is a bit thin and exaggerated - but for the French it is the ideal playground. "

Awards
