content

Inspector Stephan Derrick did it: The crime rate in Munich has fallen to the 0.00 percent mark. Its prestige is high and it even has its own elevator with a body-friendly entrance.

However, the elimination competitions for the “European Song Contest” force his trip to Lapland to be interrupted because of deaths. The hit king Arno Hello absolutely wants to win the competition and sabotages his competitors. In particular, various formations of the "Irreplaceable Boys" - each quickly reassembled - have to lose their lives before Derrick can stop the criminal.

background

  • The production was carried out by the new German film company in cooperation with ZDF Enterprises .
  • Jürgen Drews is the singing voice of the song of the character Arno Hello for the imaginary “European Song Contest” of the film.
  • As is common in cartoons, the figures show a tetradactyly, with only three fingers per hand besides the thumb.
  • In the year of publication 2004 Michael Schaack produced another cartoon of a similar “style” with Dieter - Der Film , which was released in 2006 as a television film .

reception

Basil Wegener writes in the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung that the film “mostly pretty simple gags in favor of a cannonade” hardly goes into the mood of the series, and there are no similarities either. "If the success of the original was primarily the result of subtlety and modesty, the new Derrick is more of a daredevil."

The lexicon of international film also sees a "[largely] humor-free entertainment with tortured jokes and mediocre animation, which even with the most benevolent interpretation cannot be interpreted as an homage to the television myth."

Others

The phrase " Harry, get the car already ", which was never mentioned in the series, but was often attributed to it as a stereotype, is used several times in the cartoon as a gag .
