Racławice Śląskie , formerly Racławice Niemieckie ( German German Rasselwitz ) is a village and part of the urban-and-rural community Głogówek (Oberglogau) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship on the border with the Czech Republic. The Osobłoga (Hotzenplotz) river flows through the village in the Leobschütz-Troppauer hill country . Until 1954 the place was the seat of the municipality of the same name.
history
In 1252 the village was first mentioned in documents from Bruno von Schauenburg , Bishop of Olomouc . In 1371 there was a church. From 1524 the village belonged to the parish Jägerndorf . From 1595 Rasselwitz and the surrounding area were owned by the von Oppersdorff family . In 1679 a school was mentioned. A new church was built between 1787 and 1789.
In 1876 the Neustadt OS - Deutsch Rasselwitz - Leobschütz line was opened. In 1945, the expulsion of the German residents began, replacing them with eastern Poland, who in turn had been expelled from Horodenka (now Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast ) as well as Baranówka ( Brzezany Powiat , Tarnopol Voivodeship ) and Rożyszcze ( Łuck Powiat , Volhynia Voivodeship ).
Attractions
One of the architectural monuments of the city is the Catholic parochial church of the Assumption , which was built in Baroque style according to plans by the Italian architect Michele Clementi. In the church there is a picture of Our Lady of Buszcze , which was brought from the Ukrainian town of Buszcze near Brzezany .
traffic
In the village there is a train station on the Katowice – Legnica railway line , where the disused Racławice Śląskie – Głubczyce line branches off. The steel bridge over the Osobłoga is on this route .
