The German Actor Award was first awarded on February 12, 2012 . The idea for this award comes from Antoine Monot Jr.. Stefanie Sick and Antoine Monot Jr. led the award ceremony in front of 600 guests in Berlin's Maritim Hotel . The Governing Mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit spoke a greeting. The jury consisted of Jasmin Tabatabai (chairwoman), Tim Bergmann , Hans-Werner Meyer , Antoine Monot Jr., Thomas Schmuckert and Stefanie Stappenbeck .
