German Sports Journalist Award 2019

The eighth presentation of the German Sports Journalist Award took place on March 25, 2019 at the Grand Elysée Hotel in Hamburg . For the first time, the nominees were selected by a committee made up of celebrities (8–20 per category). Prizes were distributed in ten categories, including, for the first time, the best eSport reporting . In addition, the award for life's work and a special prize for promoting amateur football were given.

The German Sports Journalist Prize for Lifetime Achievement was awarded to Gerd Rubenbauer ( Bayerischer Rundfunk ). The special prize for outstanding commitment in promoting amateur football was given to Sportbuzzer (managing director Marco Fenske).
