Die Linke Rheinland-Pfalz (spelling: DIE LINKE.Rheinland-Pfalz) is the regional association of the German party Die Linke in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate . The party emerged from the merger of the regional associations of WASG and PDS .

Organization and structure

The Left Rhineland-Palatinate is organized in grassroots groups and local associations. Together these form 30 district associations . The highest organ is the state party congress, which is elected for two years. The most important governing bodies of the party are the state board and the state committee.

The party organization also includes working groups, working groups and forums in which members of the party and non-members with an interest in certain topics can officially come together.

The Left Youth ('solid) is the party's state youth association. The national organization Jenny-Marx-Gesellschaft is a party-affiliated educational association in the network of foundations of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung .

Elected officials

Bundestag elections

In the 2017 federal election , the regional association won three parliamentary seats. Alexander Ulrich , Katrin Werner and Brigitte Freihold currently represent the regional association in the Bundestag.

State election 2016

In the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate , the state association of Rhineland-Palatinate missed the party the Left in the state parliament. 2.81% of the valid votes were achieved, compared to 3.0% of the votes in the 2011 state election .

District election 2014

Brigitte Freihold owned by the county council Palatinate since 2014 as a mandate bearer for the Left.

Municipal mandates

In the 2014 local elections in Rhineland-Palatinate , Die Linke won 31 district council seats in the districts and 27 city council seats in the independent cities. A total of 122 of 35,681 mandates were reached.
