Dietmar Horcicka

Dietmar Horcicka (* 1972 in Leoben , Styria ) is an Austrian actor and theater director .

Life

Dietmar Horcicka completed his acting training from 1994 to 1997 at the school for drama of the state capital Kiel. After graduating, he was engaged at the Bremerhaven City Theater from 1997 to 2000 . In the 1999/00 season he appeared there as Ruprecht in Der zerbrochne Krug . From 2000 to 2003 a permanent engagement at Theater Meiningen followed . There he played u. a. Alfred in stories from the Vienna Woods (premiere: 2001/02 season, director: Dietrich Hilsdorf ), the Malvolio in Was ihr wollt (2003, director: Matthias Brenner ), the title role in Richard II. (2003), Philipp Klapproth in Pension Schöller , later as a guest then the title role in Ajax (2005, directed by Sebastian Baumgarten ) and the Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet (2008, directed by Thomas Lange ).

Horcicka has been a freelance actor, director and chansonnier since 2004 .

As an actor, he had guest contracts at the Magdeburg Theater (2005, as Naphta in Der Zauberberg ), the Neuen Schauspiel Erfurt (2006 as Demetrius / Flaut in A Midsummer Night's Dream and 2007 as Caliban in Der Sturm ) and at the Theater Lüneburg (2007, as Jess in Harry and Sally and No. 7 in The Twelve Jurors in 2008 ).

From 2009 he made several guest appearances at the Jagsthausen Castle Festival , first as Georg in Götz von Berlichingen (2009), as Franz Moor in Die Räuber (2009), as Franz in Götz von Berlichingen (2010) and as Fool in Was ihr wollt (2010) . In 2014 he appeared there in the satirical comedy The Hostage Taking by Hans Scheibner . In 2014 and 2015 he took on the role of the student Pfeiffer in Die Feuerzangenbowle .

He had other engagements at the Neue Theater Halle (2012-2013), the Hamburger Kammerspiele (2013-2015), the Komödie am Kurfürstendamm (2015), the Theater Chur (2016, in the Vico Torriani -Musical Hotel Victoria ) and in the comedy on the old town market in Braunschweig (2017-2018).

As a theater director, Horcicka emerged with numerous own productions. As a director, he is a regular guest director at the Meiningen State Theater. He staged a. a. at the Erfurt Theater ( art by Yasmina Reza and Peter and the Wolf , which was invited to Dubai as a guest performance ), at the Klibühni Chur and at the Röttingen Frankenspiele.

In addition to acting, Horcicka was always musically active as a singer and chansonnier . He gave guest performances with his own solo programs So beautiful and so stupid at the same time and I'll never get so good with songs by Jacques Brel . His program Brel meets Piaf (2012), with which he a. a. appeared in the Berlin Philharmonic , was created in collaboration with singer and actress Asita Djavadi .

Horcicka took part in several movies and was in episode roles for various TV series such as SOKO Wismar (2006, as an unpleasant investment advisor on Sunday), Die Pfefferkörner (2015, as Chief Inspector Funke) and the Dr. Kleist (2019, as Public Prosecutor Sommer) and as an advertising actor in front of the camera.

Horcicka is a member of the Federal Drama Association (BFFS). He lives in Hamburg .

Awards

Horcicka has received several awards for his artistic achievements. In 1996 he won the 1st prize in the category "Lied und Chanson" at Jugend kulturell . He also received the NDR sponsorship award and the audience award. In 2014, the play Das Wunder von Wörgl , directed by Horcicka, was awarded the Wörgl Culture Prize (Klibühni Chur). Horcicka's stage version and staging of the musical Blues Brothers at Theater Meiningen was awarded the “Best Production of the Year” award by the local theater association in 2019.
