|
Dietrichsdorf is a district of the town of Zahna-Elster in the district of Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Dietrichsdorf is nine kilometers east of Wittenberg on the north bank of the Elbe in the Fläming Nature Park , which was declared in 2005 . The Elbe tributary Zahna flows through Dietrichsdorf.
history
The originally Slavic town of Dietrichsdorf was first mentioned in a document on November 14, 1385. But it was named after the locator Dietrich, the leader of the German settler group and not after its originally Slavic place name.
In 1705 the Wittenberg University had a small wooden church built, which existed until 1835 and was demolished because it was in disrepair. In 1864 the government in Merseburg erected a massive follow-up building in the arched style, which is similar in the construction plan to the church in Trajuhn . These buildings have been fundamentally preserved to this day.
From 1942 to the end of 2010, Külso was part of the Dietrichsdorf community. On January 1, 2011, Dietrichsdorf and Külso, together with the municipalities of the dissolved Elbaue-Fläming administrative community, became part of the newly formed town of Zahna-Elster .
