Dinkelrode is a district of the community Schenklengsfeld in the eastern Hessian district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg .

Geographical location

The place is on the edge of a beech forest in the Landecker Amt north-northwest of the main town Schenklengsfeld. The district road 20 running through the village leads northeast to the Schenklengsfeld district of Malkomes and southwest to the district road 17, which leads from Wüstfeld to Bad Hersfeld .

history

Dinkelrode was first mentioned in 1240 as "villa Tinchenrod". About the place name Tynkerod it developed in 1620 to Dickelrode .

On December 31, 1971 Dinkelrode was incorporated into the community of Schenklengsfeld. On May 1st, 2015 Dinkelrode celebrated its 775th local anniversary.
