Unterweiseborn is a district of the community Schenklengsfeld in the eastern Hessian district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg .

Geographical location

The place is located south of the main town Schenklengsfeld on the east side of the Ringberg. State road 3171 runs through the village .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1314 with the place name "Inferior Wyzzenborn". The place got its current name via "Niedern Wissinborn". Settlement has been proven by grave finds as early as the 2nd century. A Germanic settlement was found near the village.

On February 1, 1971, Unterweiseborn was incorporated into the community of Schenklengsfeld as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
