Schenksolz is a district of the community Schenklengsfeld in East Hesse .

The place is north of the main town Schenklengsfeld in the Solztal on the Solz . State road 3171 runs west of the village .

history

Schenken Sulza was the name of the village when it was first mentioned in writing in 1312. The name of the place was mentioned on the occasion of a witness hearing in a dispute between the Hersfeld Propstei Petersberg and the Lords of Buchenau . Later names for the village are Picerne (Schenk) Sulza and Schenksultz .

On December 31, 1971, Schenksolz was incorporated into the community of Schenklengsfeld.

There is a village home in the village. Local public transport is carried out by ÜWAG Bus GmbH with line 340.

The Schenkensolz stop was on the Bad Hersfeld – Heimboldshausen railway line (Solztalbahn) , which has been closed since 1999 . The Solztal cycle path , which is now part of the Hesse cycle path , runs through the village along the former railway line . This leads from Hanau on former railway lines about 250 km through the Vogelsberg and the Rhön and ends in Bad Hersfeld .
