Oberlengsfeld is a district of the community Schenklengsfeld in the eastern Hessian district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg .
Geographical location
The place is east of the main town Schenklengsfeld and connects directly to it. State road 3172 runs through the village .
history
Today's Oberlengsfeld was first mentioned in 1314 with the place name Superior Lengisfeld . The village was later called Lengisfeld unter Landecke . Around 1639, during the Thirty Years' War , the place, like many others, became a desert . In the middle of the 18th century, however, over 20 families were living in Oberlengsfeld again.
On February 1, 1971, Oberlengsfeld was incorporated into the municipality of Schenklengsfeld as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
