Dino Radončić (born January 8, 1999 in Giessen ) is a   Montenegrin basketball player . His traditional positions are those of the small forward or power forward .

career

Dino Radončić was born as the son of the Montenegrin handball professional and Yugoslav national player Damir Radončić in Giessen, Germany . At that time, his father was under contract with the HSG Dutenhofen / Münchholzhausen . Dino Radončić began his career as a basketball player in 2010 at KK Uno Grande in Zrenjanin . In the summer of 2013, the Spanish top club FC Barcelona signed the young Montenegrin and used him in the Cadete B (U-15) age group. After one season, the 15-year-old Radončić moved to the youth team of arch rivals Real Madrid , where he won the Spanish championship in the Cadete A (U-16) age group in the 2014/15 season. He himself achieved 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in the final against FC Barcelona and was elected MVP of the final.

In the 2015/16 season Radončić was part of the squad of the U-18 team of the "Royal" , but due to the injuries of Rudy Fernández and Jeffery Taylor , he began the season in the first team. On October 18, 2015, at the age of 16 years and 9 months, he made his debut in the ACB league against RETAbet.es GBC . Four days later, Radončić was in a game against KK Red Star Belgrade for the first time in the ULEB Euroleague on the floor.

National team

Although Dino Radončić also has a Serbian passport, he decided to play for the Montenegrin national team. He made his debut on August 31, 2016 in the course of qualifying for the 2017 European Basketball Championship against Slovakia .
