Disc-Overy is the debut album by British grime rapper Tinie Tempah . It was released on Parlophone on October 1, 2010, but has been re-released in various performances with live versions, remixes and a new song along with Wiz Khalifa .

history

The first single to be released was Pass Out , for which Tinie Tempah later received many awards and which went platinum in the UK. The second release Frisky together with Labrinth rose to number 2 in the UK. With the third release, Written in the Stars , he had his breakthrough in the US, where the single went platinum. In England he landed his second number one hit. The song became the theme song for Wrestlemania 27 .

Other worldwide singles were Miami 2 Ibiza with Swedish House Mafia , Invincible with Kelly Rowland , which achieved the highest ranking in Germany to date, and later Till I'm Gone together with Wiz Khalifa. However, this song was not on the album's first release.

In Great Britain the album was number 30 on the 2010 annual charts and has now been in the Top 100 for over a year.

criticism

Disc-Overy received a 72% rating from Metacritic .

Computer Bild described Disc-Overy as an overly cautious security album and only gave it the rating "acceptable" .

The site cd-evaluations.de recognized it as a strong first album and awarded stars.

Laut.de forgave and writes: "As a music consumer with somewhat higher demands, however, you will mainly miss corners and edges and mourn the wasted potential."

Allmusic awarded and praised it as a successful grime album: "Disc-Overy is the sound of an artist completely on top of their game, which could finally help the distinctly British grime scene go worldwide."
