The district of Chiliquín is one of 21 districts of the province of Chachapoyas in the Amazonas region in northern Peru . The district area amounts to 142 km². At the 2017 census there were 585 people in the district. In 1993 the population was 1269, in 2007 it was 851.
Geographical location
The Chiliquín district is located in the high mountains of the Andes . Chiliquín can only be reached on foot or by mule, there is no road. Likewise, the entire district is not connected to the electricity grid.
Limits
In the north the district borders on the district Asunción , in the east on the district Quinjalca , in the south on the district Sonche , in the southwest on the district Valera ( province Bongará ) and in the west on the district Jumbilla (also in the province Bongará).
