The Pueblo Nuevo district is located in the Chincha province in the Ica region in southwest Peru . The district has an area of ​​211 km². At the 2017 census, there were 67,054 residents in the district. In 1993 the population was 36,763, in 2007 it was 52,143. The district administration is located in the 149  m high town of Pueblo Nuevo , a north-northeastern suburb of the provincial capital Chincha Alta , 2.5 km from the city center. The rest of the area in the district is practically unpopulated.

Geographical location

The Pueblo Nuevo district is located in the north of the Chincha province. It has a longitudinal extension in SSW-NNE direction of 30 km and a maximum width of 15 km. In the north are the foothills of the Western Cordillera , in the south the desert-like coastal plain, in the extreme southwest the urban area in the Chincha Alta conurbation.

The Pueblo Nuevo district is bordered to the west by the district Grocio Prado , to the north by de district San Vicente Cañete ( Cañete Province ), in the northeast on the district Chavin and on the southeast by the District Chincha Alta .
