The Quilahuani district is located in the Candarave Province in the Tacna region in southwestern Peru . The district was established on February 15, 1955. It has an area of 55.1 km². The 2017 census counted 753 residents. In 1993 the population was 975, in 2007 it was 1094. The district administration is located in the 3176 m high village of Quilahuani with 399 inhabitants (as of 2017). Quilahuani is 5.5 km south-southwest of the provincial capital Candarave .
Geographical location
The Quilahuani district is located on the southern flank of the Cordillera Volcánica in the south of the Candarave province.
The Quilahuani district is bordered on the southwest by the district Curibaya , in the northwest on the district Huanuara , the north and the east by the district Candarave , in the southeast of the district Sitajara and the south by the district Heroes Albarracín (the latter two districts belong to the Province Tarata ).
