The San Miguel de Acos district is located in the province of Huaral in Region Lima in Peru . The district was established on December 31, 1956. It has an area of ​​41.6 km². The 2017 census counted 692 residents. In 1993 the population was 780, in 2007 it was 754. The administrative center is the 1576  m high village of Acos with 566 inhabitants (as of 2017). Acos is located at the confluence of the Río Carac in the Río Chancay almost 50 km east-northeast of the provincial capital Huaral . The Chiprac archaeological site is located on a ridge in the extreme south of the district.

Geographical location

The district of San Miguel de Acos is located in the Peruvian Western Cordillera in the central southeast of the Huaral province. The Río Chancay crosses the far northwest of the district in a westerly direction.

The district of San Miguel de Acos borders in the south on the district Atavillos Bajo , in the west on the district Lampián , in the north on the district Veintisiete de Noviembre and in the northeast on the district Atavillos Alto .
