The Huaral Province is one of nine provinces in the Lima region on the Pacific coast of Peru . The Huaral Province has an area of 3655.7 km². The population was 183,989 in 2017. In 2007 this was 164,660. The seat of the administration is the city of Huaral .
Geographical location
The province of Huaral is located km north-northwest of the state capital Lima . It extends over the catchment area of the Río Chancay and extends from the Pacific coast in the west to the watershed , which runs along the Peruvian Western Cordillera , in the east. Furthermore, the province extends in the north to the river valley of the Río Chica , a left tributary of the Río Huaura . The province of Huaral borders in the north on the province Huaura , in the east on the provinces Pasco and Yauli and in the south on the provinces Lima and Canta .
Administrative division
The province of Huaral consists of the following 12 districts ( distritos ). The Huaral district is the seat of the provincial administration.
