The Yauli Province is located in the far west of the Junín administrative region in central Peru . It has an area of ​​3617 km². The capital of the province is La Oroya .

Geographical location

The province of Yauli is located on the eastern flank of the Western Cordillera , 110 km east-northeast of Lima . It extends over the western catchment area of the upper reaches of the Río Mantaro . Its tributary Río Yauli flows through the central part of the province. The province of Yauli borders the Pasco and Junín regions to the north, the Tarma province to the east, the Jauja province to the south and the Lima region to the west .
