The Pasco [ ˈpasko ] region (Spanish: Región Pasco , Quechua Pasqu suyu ) is an administrative region in the central Peruvian Andes . 304,200 people (2015) live in an area of 25,319 km². The capital is Cerro de Pasco , an important mining center in Peru. In the Pasco region (Oxapampa province) there are some settlements that can be traced back to the establishment of Austrian and German emigrants.
