The Ucayali region [ ukaˈʝali ] (Spanish Región Ucayali , Quechua Ukayali suyu ) is an east Peruvian region. 496,459 people (2017) live in an area of 102,411 km². The capital is Pucallpa . The name of the region is derived from the Ucayali River .
geography
The Ucayali region borders on Brazil to the east, Loreto to the north, Huánuco , Pasco , Junín to the west, and Cusco and Madre de Dios to the south .
It is mainly covered by tropical rainforest . The climate is mostly humid and hot. The average annual temperature is 25 ° C.
