Chançay is a French commune with 1,137 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Tours and the Canton of Vouvray . The inhabitants are called Chancéens .
geography
Chançay is located about fifteen kilometers east-northeast of Tours in the Touraine countryside on the Brenne River . Chançay is surrounded by the neighboring communities Reugny in the north, Nazelles-Négron in the east and south-east, Noizay in the south and Vernou-sur-Brenne in the west.
