The A10 motorway , the former national road RN 10 , today RD 910, and the former national road RN 143 , today RD 943 connect Chambray-lès-Tours on a national level. The city is connected by a bypass with the A 10 , RD 910 and in the southeast with the RD 943 .

Chambray-lès-Tours is located 6 km south of Tours . In the north-west it borders on Joué-lès-Tours , in the north-east on Saint Avertin .
The city is not far from the Loire River and is the capital of the canton of Chambray-lès-Tours .
Origin of name
From 1245 the city was called Chamberium, from 1290 Chamberio, from 1320 Parochia de Chambreio until it was renamed Chambray in the 18th century.
In 1918 it was finally given its current name Chambray-lès-Tours. It got this name after the name of the former Gallo-Roman owner, Cambarius.
