Véretz is a French municipality with 4496 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement Tours and the canton of Montlouis-sur-Loire . The inhabitants are called Véretzois (es) .

geography

Véretz is located on the southern bank of the Cher River . Véretz is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montlouis-sur-Loire in the north and northeast, Azay-sur-Cher in the east and southeast, Esvres in the south and Larçay in the west.

The former route nationale 76 (today: D976) runs through the municipality .
