Saint-Etienne-de-Chigny is a French commune with a population of 1,606 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Tours and the canton of Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire (until 2015: Canton of Luynes ). The inhabitants are called Stéphanois .

geography

Saint-Étienne-de-Chigny is located on the Loire about eleven kilometers west of Tours . The Bresme River, a tributary of the Loire, limits the municipality to the east. Saint-Étienne-de-Chigny is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ambillou in the north and north-west, Luynes in the east and north-east, Berthenay in the south, Cinq-Mars-la-Pile in the west and south-west and Mazières-de-Touraine in the west and north-west.
