Berthenay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Étienne-de-Chigny in the north, Luynes in the north-east, Saint-Genouph in the east, Savonnières in the south and south-east, Villandry in the south and south-west and Cinq-Mars-la-Pile in the west and north-west.
