The Tours Métropole Val de Loire is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Métropole in the department of Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire . It was founded on December 31, 1999 and currently comprises 22 communities. The administrative headquarters are in the city of Tours .
Historical development
The community association was originally founded as Communauté d'agglomération Tours Plus . With effect from January 1, 2017, it was initially elevated to the rank of communauté urbaine , and from April 1, 2017 to a metropolis . At the same time it was renamed to the current name.
