Esvres (also: Esvres-sur-Indre ) is a French municipality with 6010 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement Tours and the Canton of Monts .

geography

Esvres lies on the Indre river , into which the Échandon flows here. Esvres is surrounded by the neighboring communities Larçay in the north, Véretz and Azay-sur-Cher in the northeast, Truyes in the east, Cormery in the southeast, Saint-Branchs in the south, Veigné in the west and Chambray-lès-Tours in the northwest.

The A85 car route runs through the municipality . Esvres train station is on the Joué-lès-Tours-Châteauroux railway line.
