Montbazon Town Hall

Montbazon is a French municipality with 4313 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Tours and is the administrative seat of the canton of Monts . The place lies on the Indre between Veigné , Monts and Sorigny , about twelve kilometers from Tours .

history

Fulko III. , Count of Anjou , had a castle built here in the 11th century. In the 16th century, Montbazon was raised to a duchy and peerage for Louis VII. De Rohan-Guémené .
