The Chancay district is one of 12 districts of the province of Huaral in Region Lima in Peru . In the 2017 census, 56,920 people lived on an area of ​​150.11 km². In 1993 the population was 32,784, in 2007 it was 49,932. The administrative seat is the coastal city of Chancay .

Geographical location

The district stretches along a 25 km stretch of coastline of the Pacific Ocean north of the mouth of the Río Chancay . In the northwest the district borders on the district Huacho (province Huaura ), in the northeast and east on the district Huaral and in the south on the district Aucallama .
