Dmitri Wjatscheslavowitsch Klokow ( Russian Дмитрий Вячеславович Клоков , scientific transliteration Dmitrij Vjačeslavovič Klokov ; born February 18, 1983 in Balaschicha , Russia ) is a Russian weightlifter .

Personal

Klokow is the son of the former weightlifter Vyacheslav Klokow , who became world champion in the 2nd heavyweight up to 110 kg in Moscow in 1983 .

Career

Klokow's international career began as a teenager when he won several medals at world and European junior championships. Klokow made his first appearance in 2004 at the European Championships in Kiev . In the heavyweight up to 105 kg he was able to place himself in fourth place in the duel with 410.0 kg (185.0 / 225.0 kg). He won bronze in the push. The winner was Alan Zagaew with 420.0 kg.

At his first world championships a year later in Doha , he won all three gold medals with 419.0 kg (192.0 / 227.0 kg), ahead of Alexandru Bratan with 413.0 kg and Martin Tešovič with 412.0 kg. In 2006 and 2007 he took third place at the World Cup with 406.0 kg and 411.0 kg, respectively, where he tried to win gold in the second and third attempt of pushing, but failed.
