Klein Döbern ( Polish Dobrzeń Mały ) is a village in Upper Silesia . Klein Döbern is located in the municipality of Groß Döbern in the Opolski powiat in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location
Klein Döbern is located two kilometers southeast of the municipality of Groß Döbern and eleven kilometers northwest of the voivodeship capital Opole . The place is on the right bank of the Oder . The Droga wojewódzka 454 voivodeship road runs through Klein Döbern .

history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1228. In 1865 the place had 10 farmers, six half-farmers, a gardener, six farmers, 21 residents and 44 residents. The school responsible for Klein Döbern was in Groß Döbern.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 321 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 188 for Poland. Klein Döbern remained with the German Empire . In 1925 there were 818 inhabitants. On April 1, 1938, Klein Döbern was incorporated into Döbern (Upper Silesia) . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Opole .
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed Dobrzeń Mały on June 28, 1948 . In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Opolski . On April 22, 2009, German was introduced as the second official language in the community of Groß Döbern, to which Klein Döbern belongs, and on December 1, 2009 the place was also given the official German place name Klein Döbern .
