Dominic Reinold (born January 7, 1989 in Wesseling ) is a German soccer player . He prefers to play as an attacking midfielder , but can also be used as a center forward and hanging tip .

Club career

Youth in Germany

Reinold began his career with the lower-class German clubs SSV Berzdorf and Spvg Wesseling-Urfeld before moving to Bonner SC . There he played with the A-youth in the U-19 Bundesliga .

First senior years in the USA

In the summer of 2008, Reinold decided to study in the USA and continued his career at the football club of his university , the Fairleigh Dickinson University , the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights in the Northeast Conference . There he convinced with good performances. Reinold scored twelve goals (four assists ) in eighteen games in the first year and nine goals (four assists) in the second year. Because of these strong performances, he was nominated for the First Team All-Northeast Conference in both 2009 and 2010. Also for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Second Team All-North Atlantic Region in 2010. He was also named Rookie of the Year at the Northeast Conference in 2009. In 2010 and 2011, he also played a few games for the New Jersey Rangers in the USL Premier Development League during the break of the season . He played a total of eleven games there and scored six goals.

Professional football in Portugal

In the summer of 2011 Reinold was recommended by his then coach of the New Jersey Rangers Carlos Rasoilo , who comes from Portugal, in his homeland Aveiro at the first division club SC Beira-Mar . After Reinold had completed a trial training there, he was signed on July 21 for two years. He made his debut game in the Liga Zon Sagres on the first matchday in the away game on August 24 against Marítimo Funchal , when he came on in the 67th minute for the Chinese Zhang Chengdong . The game ended goalless. This was followed by a brief assignment on the second day of the game, before he was loaned out for a year to the Portuguese second division club SC Covilhã shortly before the end of the transfer period in order to gain match practice. For SC Covilhã he made his debut on matchday three of the Liga de Honra in the starting line-up in the away game against Naval 1º de Maio . Reinold was substituted in the 61st minute and the game was lost 2-1. He scored his first goal on matchday 11 in a 2-1 home win against SC Freamunde in the 50th minute. At the end of April 2012 he got a knee infection and was out for the rest of the season. He made a total of twenty-four appearances for SC Covilhã in the 2011/12 season and scored two goals. After the season he returned to SC Beira-Mar.

Career break through injuries

After he got fit again in the summer of 2012, the injury broke out again in the pre-season and Reinold had to seek treatment again. At the beginning of September 2012, he terminated his contract with Beira-Mar and returned to Germany to seek medical treatment there. Here he underwent an arthroscopy on his left knee. In October 2012 he was able to start training again for the first time. In January 2013 Reinold completed a trial training session with German regional league team Eintracht Trier . However, there was no obligation. At the end of January 2013, he completed a trial training session with the Moldovan first division club FC Milsami during the training camp in Turkey under German coach Rainer Zobel . At the beginning of March 2013, Reinold had to be operated again due to his injury.

Comeback in Canada

End of July 2013 was the football club of the Canadian University Trinity Western University , the Trinity Western Spartans , known to Reinold his career for the team in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport will continue. He also studied movement science . However, in the remainder of 2013 Reinold could only play two games in which he scored a goal before being sidelined until mid-2014 due to another injury. In 2014 he made six more appearances and scored two goals (one assist). In the summer of 2015 he left the university.

Return to Germany

After two years in Canada, Reinold decided to return to Germany in the summer of 2015. Here he joined the national division SSV Merten . After osteoarthritis was found in his injured knee in December 2015, Reinold ended his career. He is now self-employed as an individual trainer in the soccer and fitness area with his company domletics and looks after Frederic Ananou , among others . He also works seasonally for Real Madrid's football school .

He also plays for the Kleinfeld national team of Germany, for which he was the top scorer at the European Championships in Hungary in 2016.
